We have all enjoyed playing Pac-Man on our computers. Now, you can play the modern version of Pac-Man right on your smartphone.
The original Pac-Man was released in 1980. Since then it didn’t change much. There was another version of Pac-Man launched in 2007 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. On Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary in 2010, Google honored the Pac-Man by letting us play it on its website. Now this game is available for Android and iOS both.
How good is the reception of Pac-Man 256?
Sam Murray UK blogger who reviews games as part of his job took a look at Pac-Man 256 last month and when we asked for his input in the review he added: "I'm a huge fan of classic games so naturally I'm a fan of Pac-Man 256. It's fun, addictive and well put together. The only real downside for me is that the Free-to-Play commercial model does hinder the game as you only get a limited number of credits. Once you have used them you have to wait until the counter reaches zero (approx. 10 mins per extra credit) or pay for additional credits through in-app purchases. Bit of a downer but so if you're serious about Pac-Man then you do not have any other options othern than paying."
The legacy with a touch of modernism
The Pac Man 256 is a mixture of the original Pac-Man and the Crossy Road. Crossy Road was included in the top 10 mobile apps and games of 2014. The Pac-Man owners along with the owners of Crossy Road created this amazing game Pac-Man 256. The original game had 255 levels as it was not possible to play the 256th level of the game as half the level was missing. Pac-Man 256 starts from the 256th level of the original game.
This game begins with a normal maze and you have to collect power-ups and different collectibles. The map spreads endlessly upwards which does not let you go back much. You have to keep on avoiding the ghosts and moving on. The owners Namco-Bandai and Hipster Whale have done a marvelous job in creating the Pac-Man 256 as it looks absolutely stunning. The game also introduced a few new features like lasers to zap the ghosts, and boosts to let you move much faster. The game lets you pick up credits as you cruise through the maze. In case you have chosen to activate the power-ups, you have to spend a credit each time you start a new round of the game. You can also use the credit in case you get hit by a ghost. You can end the game and restart if you do not want to use your credit.

The game gives you a lot of credits and you can even earn credits by watching short videos or completing challenges. The option of doubling your credit is also available as you can easily purchase a coin-doubler for $3.99 on Android and $6 for iOS. You can also invest in unlimited credits which are available for $5 only.Although the game works perfectly fine with touch controls but it could be played using Bluetooth controllers as well. Pac-Man 256 is a brilliant game that can be downloaded for free with in-app purchases ranging from $1 to $5.
